How to Manage Your Weight: 10 Tips

For many of us, maintaining an ideal weight can be challenging. In fact, you may know a few people who never seem to gain weight. The following 10 tips will show you how to manage your weight.

1.     Stay Active

A consistent active lifestyle is an important habit for weight management. An active lifestyle that comprises of at least five, 30 minutes exercisesessions per weekand include both weight lifting and aerobic sessions will help speed up your metabolism and burn calories. A fast metabolic function and the habit of burning calories are steps in the right direction to manage your weight.

2.     Avoid Sugary Drink

Sugary drinks can contribute to weight gain. Water is by far the healthiest drink to consume as shown by researches. By substituting sugary drink with water and other healthier drink, such as organic coconut water, can contribute greatly to maintaining your ideal weight and minimize the increase in unwanted weight gain.

3.     Don’t Skip Breakfast

It has been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but why? A healthy breakfast will give you energy, help you avoid over eating and help you make healthy food choices as you go throughout the day. Researchers say by making breakfast our biggest meal of the day and not overdoing it with lunch and dinner can help with weight loss.

4.     Weigh Yourself Once per Week

It is recommended that you weigh yourself once per week, at the same time (preferably in the morning) and in the same way to get a more accurate measure of your weight, especially if you are keeping track. Weighing in the morning gives you a more accurate results because as you sleep at nights your body gets ample time to process and digest food. Personally, I weigh most mornings when I am at home and is not bothered by any minor fluctuation that occurs.

5.     Get Optimal Sleep

A good night’s sleep is significant for overall health. Adequate nightly sleep is as important as eating healthy and exercising consistently. Poor sleep has shown to lead to weigh gain or make it difficult to lose weight. Aim for 7.5 hours of sleep or moreeach night.

6.     Stay Hydrated 

Drinking plenty of water can help with weight loss by slightly increasing the metabolism and cause you to burn more calories on a daily basis. Two liters of water is the recommended daily intake.

7.     Control Stress Levels

Stress can lead to weight gain based on how it is handled. Everyone handles stress differently, one of the effects of stress may be weight gain, as a result of finding comfort in food in stressful time.

8.     Eat Healthy

Healthy eating is one of most important habits for weight management. A healthy diet packed with fruits, vegetables, protein, good carbohydrates and good fat can help reach your weight loss goals. Eat three heathy meals per day and 2 or 3 healthy snacks. Include protein, vegetables, complex carbs and good fat in each meal.

9.     Form a Support Team

By having people to hold your accountable can help to achieve your goals by forcing you to be consistent with your habits. They can support you along the way and encourages you when you feel like giving up or breaking your habits.

10.  Maintain your Weight Management Habits

The best way to manage your weight and reach your ideal weight loss goal is to stay true to your routine and habits. Plan ahead and establish a schedule to help you implement all the actions that can contribute to your success.
